The lastest Screening of A Bridge Delivered is Wednesday, August 24th 8-10 pm  at the Socrates Sculpture Garden in Long Island City!  This has been an amazing summer being included in two different shows with Cindy Sherman and Wednesday nite there will also be a film by photographer Paul Strand!

The Evening’s Program





1. Manhatta by Paul Strand 1921 A meditation on New York at the height of the industrial revolution. Music by David Crowell, Edward Rosenberg & Eli Asher


2. Seeing New York by Yacht by Frederick S. Armitage and A.E. Weed for American Mutoscope and Biograph Co. 1903 A tour through the New York harbor with early moving picture technology. The camera passes by this very site at around 1min 45 seconds into the footage. Music by David Crowell, Edward Rosenberg & Eli Asher


3. A Bridge Delivered by Stephen Mallon 2011 A time lapse video following the delivery of the Willis avenue bridge, created with over 30,000 still images. Directed and produced by Stephen Mallon. Edited by Princess Hairston.Music by David Crowell, Edward Rosenberg & Eli Asher


4. Nijuman No Borei (200,000 phantoms - Hiroshima 1926-2006) by Jean-Gabriel Periot 2007 A 60-year time lapse created from archival images reminds us that the past is ever-present. Music by Vito Ricci & Friends


5. History of War by Tiny Circus 2010 Tiny Circus collaborates with community partners large and small, old and young, to facilitate the creation of new stop-motion animation. The short films are alternate “histories” of objects, occurrences, and ideas – like popcorn, war, or adaptation. tinycircus.org



6. Safety Last (excerpt) Directed by Fred C. Newmeyer and Sam Taylor; Produced by Hal Roach; Starring Harold Lloyd 1923 Before there were Hollywood sets, you had to climb up real buildings yourself! Music by Nathan Koci & Karen Waltuch

8. From Radio Row to Twin Towers Port Authority of NY & NJ 1984 Footage from the late 60’s and early 70’s showing the clearing of the battery park area and construction of the twin towers. Music by Benjamin Backus & Friends. Ben’s grandfather was one of the master riggers on the construction crew.

These photographs track the final passage of hundreds of decommissioned subway cars as they make their way their last stop: the Atlantic Ocean.  The photographs dramatically capture the moments before, during, and after these subway cars are dropped into the sea to spend their "retirement" as a  new home for undersea life.
